KPNHA COMMUNITY FUNDED PROJECTS
| The KPNHA supports community projects focused on environmental protection and environmental education. The list below identifies some of the projects that have been funded in recent years. To apply for such funding, submit a short proposal, describing the project and the cost estimates, to any member of the KPNHA Board of Directors, or send it to the Business Manager, KPNHA, P. O. Box 1130, Kilauea HI 96754. |

School Bus for Field Trips

Annual cash donations to DOE to support costs of field
trips to Kauai National Wildlife Refuges for any school on Kauai
1998-2000. |

Art at Kilauea Point
|
Artist Patrick Ching is brought to the refuge
each year to teach art to children attending the annual Christmas
Crafts Fair and during National Wildlife Refuge Week.

|
Donation of a large collection of new books from our gift shop to the library for its opening. | |

KPNHA ran a contest among school children to commemorate National Wildlife Refuge Week. The winning artist, their class and teacher each received a free t-shirt with that student's design and a trip to Kilauea Point NWR. | |
