ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

The KPNHA is actively involved in environmental education through the production of a series of Hawaii Nature Focus booklets that, over the past 15 years, have been distributed to schools throughout the State of Hawaii. These booklets are now provided here, in this website,
electronically. They may also be downloaded and printed for educational use. KPNHA previously embraced electronic environmental education through its support of Dr. Anderson's The Albatross Project that reached thousands of students worldwide over the World Wide Web. On this website KPNHA will be developing state of the art educational electronic Games, although we have started with a simple Sea Turtle coloring book. Wild Things provides amazing photographs of the Hawaiian wildlife at the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge that may be downloaded, along with their Hawaiian and common names. Through funding of Community Projects, Research, Scholarships and its Evening Lecture Series, KPNHA reaches out to the whole community.
